Enjoyed the unique residential experience. However, as the weather was very wet and overcast, would like to have seen more lamps and lighting in in the main area corridors and small rooms to create a better ambience and friendly atmosphere.

I had a great time doing a tour around. Staicy did an amazing job to guide us around. She shared with us detailed informative sharings about the history of the place. Such a kind and amicable lady. The place has many historical pictures and documents The many years of history. Glad I chanced upon this place.

Renga was a lovely person I got to interact with, and went above and beyond. He did a spectacular job. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful english-inspired gardens 💘 Dinner was absolutely divine and at a great price. Lovely facilities and staff did an excellent job at preserving a part of history.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights, from 2 May. At 4.55am on 6 May we were rudely awakened by the sound of 3 or 4 tour buses arriving. For about 20 minutes we had to tolerate the noise of the engines running about 30 feet from our windows, and the Chinese tour group talking whilst getting organised on the buses. I complained to the Secretary/Manager the next day, but he was totally unapologetic, and offered no compensation of any kind. The service is very slow. We ordered dinner, and it took 30 minutes for the soup to arrive. Moreover many of the wait staff speak very poor English, and appear to be poorly organised by their managers. It does deliver on the old world charm. However, at US$145 per night, one can do far, far better. All in all very overrated.

A couple of night’s reprieve from the heat in the lowlands. It was nice to relax at Hill Club. Historical and comfortable. Our room boy, Renga, kept our rooms in tiptop shape with at least 2 visits a day, turned down the bed in the evening and placed hot water bottles between the sheets. So nice. The gardens are magnificent!
